Attached to Love?

"Many people confuse attachment with love. But in attachment you become selfish, interested in your own pleasure, and you misuse love. You become possesive and try to gain the objects of your desires. Attachment creates bondage, while love bestows freedom." - Swami Rama.

Non attachment doesnt mean indifference, but to genuinly and selflessly love others. If understood properly, it means love. So how many of us are attached and how many are in love?? I guess it not only applies to relationships but also to life. It is only when we are attached to life that we feel the need to want more...and hence unsatisfaction breeds. But are we capable of love??

Forgotten Yesterdays...

My sorry yesterday… an yesterday surrounded by grief… where every moment was filled with drops of uncalled tears… an yesterday where each day was lived in a make believe happiness… a happiness so fake and so true that made me believe it was for real. My yesterdays… where I always hoped for better tomorrows… but then today is just the same as yesterday… the same shadows befall me… the same gloom surrounds me… the same loneliness engulfs me…
But now my prayers have been answered… a new ray of hope has fallen on my soul and filled me with a light so bright I can no longer see my yesterday… my sorry yesterday…
Now all I see is tomorrow… a beautiful tomorrow… my yesterdays will never haunt me coz now my sorry yesterdays have been buried by many more beautiful tomorrows…

love is ...

My love is cold...
My love is still...
My love is idle...
But no less strong.
Something lacks,
Something's amiss,
The spark has gone,
The excitement dimmed.
But our love, no less strong!
There are times when my life seems meaningless without him...
There are times when i doubt the meaning of my life with him...
Understandtanding seems what our relation's built on,
Yet times arise when i doubt he understands me at all.
But our love, no less strong!
We claim to know each other wholly...
But do i really know him?
What is he thinking of at this very moment?
I have to admit...
I know him of how much he allows me to.
But our love, no less strong!
Is this love?
So i have come to believe...
Coz when the doubts creep in...
A mere glance into his eyes...
A mere sound of his hello...
Turns my insides upside down.
Then...
All the frivolous doubts vanish from my mind,
All the moments of lovelessness erased from my memories...
My belief carries me on...
Our love is no less strong!

"to see a world in a grain of sand
and heaven in a wild flower.
to hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
and eternity in an hour."- William Blake
Was he talking of space filled wid time or a concept of complete timelessness. a point in time so crammed..so filled up that the distictive parts become one whole; where the past, present and future blends into one .

As i stand alone in my space...the only thing holding me together is the heavens above and the earth below, i look up to greet her. She, in a dark mood, masking her bright and life-giving radiance...its not one of her splendid days. Yet it is in her nature to give, give and give. Is she tired of it? Has she had enough of this worldly existence? A drop of tear falls on my face. I look up and hold out my hand. One drop..then another..till all all my sins and fears are washed away by drops so pure, so untainted by the human touch.
I lean back and begin to behold the beauty of nature as each drop hits the earth. He in a state of ecstasy greets her and springs to life as it splashes its joy everywhere. Her touch awakens his flowers as they lightly dance in the gentle breeze.
I never knew such small, unnoticed things could bring such happiness to the human mind. At that moment, time stood still. Everything I ever wanted and dreamed seemed so real and so easy to attain. I had the entire future in my grasp. Nothing mattered anymore. The moment was now, it was here that i could see the whole world before my eyes. Within that sweet hour, all my memories, my existing thoughts and the times to come became a single whole.
But there was one who everyone was unaware of. While all were celebrating at her expense, not one cared to console her of her grief. She was taken for granted. An epitome of beauty, a heavenly being, a "mother" divine. Who shall wipe her tears away?

SOLITUDE IN DARKNESS!

The winter night was cold and still,
I was all alone by the window sill,
In the darkness ,just me and the stars,
And between us,the broken bars....
I stepped out aimlessly into the dark unknown,
For there was no light ,but that of my own.
The moon that shined ever so bright ,
Was off that night and out of sight....
I called out aloud on my lonely venture,
Sad was i to find myself the only creature....
My legs were weak ..my eyes asleep
I was dreming of a colourful fleet.
I opened my eyes to see a distant light,Beyond the horizon,
it was a wonderful sight!
Slowly does she come to me
Spreading her arms to welcome me.

'Vanity, not love, has been my folly.' goes the famous line by the much acclaimed character of the heart rending novel. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is a best seller as classics go by. A romantic and delectible piece set back in a time when society had a huge say in the way people led their lives. The story goes on to say in its due course that a woman changes her mind and a man his manners.

For those unlucky and misfortuned lot who never happened to browse by a copy of this classic, the plot goes like this...When Elizabeth Bennet, the one of a kind character( one like which i have never come by again in paper..), first meets eligible bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited; he is indifferent to her good looks and lively mind. When she later discovers that Darcy has involved himself in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. In the sparkling comedy of manners that follows, Jane Austen shows the folly of judging by first impressions and superbly evokes the friendships, gossip and snobberies of provincial middle-class life. a timeless classic that makes you wanna read time and again,

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
A murder in the Louvre and clues in Da Vinci paintings lead to the discovery of a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years -- which could shake the foundations of Christianity. The book is about the famous Rennaissance artist and the obique references to the occult contained in his equally famous paintings. It's also about ancient secret societies, modern forensics, science and engineering, and the history of religion. Where The Da Vinci Code shines -- brilliantly -- is in its exploration of cryptology, particularly the encoding methods developed by Leonardo da Vinci, whose art and manuscripts are packed with mystifying symbolism and quirky codes. Dnn Brown is an exceptional writer. Even though there are allegations against him for plagiarism, i have to hand it to him for his story writing ability that makes you never want to put the book down. Having read the other book "the holy blood and the holy grail", it lacks the binding force and is just factual. Its truly an invigourating experience and keeps you going without a break. Its a book i reccomend for all those who have a taste for mystery and an eye for truth.
