The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
A murder in the Louvre and clues in Da Vinci paintings lead to the discovery of a religious mystery protected by a secret society for two thousand years -- which could shake the foundations of Christianity. The book is about the famous Rennaissance artist and the obique references to the occult contained in his equally famous paintings. It's also about ancient secret societies, modern forensics, science and engineering, and the history of religion. Where The Da Vinci Code shines -- brilliantly -- is in its exploration of cryptology, particularly the encoding methods developed by Leonardo da Vinci, whose art and manuscripts are packed with mystifying symbolism and quirky codes. Dnn Brown is an exceptional writer. Even though there are allegations against him for plagiarism, i have to hand it to him for his story writing ability that makes you never want to put the book down. Having read the other book "the holy blood and the holy grail", it lacks the binding force and is just factual. Its truly an invigourating experience and keeps you going without a break. Its a book i reccomend for all those who have a taste for mystery and an eye for truth.
